BGR Energy constitutes committee to manage operations

CHENNAI: The board of directors of BGR Energy Systems has constituted an empowered committee to carry forward the affairs of the company, following the demise of the company's founder, chairman and managing director B G Raghupathy, last Sunday. The Rs 3,000-crore company will now be managed by an empowered committee consisting of V R Mahadevan, director - technologies, A Swaminathan, director - sales & marketing, K Chandrashekhar, director - projects, Swarnamugi Karthik, director - corporate strategy, and R Ramesh Kumar, president - corporate & secretary. Raghupathy's wife Sasikala Raghupathy, who joined the company as director when it was formed, will continue to be a director of the board. The company provides EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services for power projects in India. It posted a net profit of Rs 163.67 crore and earned revenues of Rs 3,107.17 crore in 2012-13.
